How were our donations to Georgetown Hospital used?
Here we are at our 35th Anniversary for this historic event in Georgetown. Over the past 35 years we have raised hundreds of thousands for cancer care and research with many different organizations such as Sick Kids Hospital, Cancer Assistance Halton Hills, Trillium Foundation, Georgetown Hospital Foundation, and many others. Raising funds and operating this type of event requires the help of the entire community including service groups such as Georgetown B2C, Georgetown Lions Club, various Volunteers, and our Sponsors. We just finished our cheque presentation for the Georgetown Hospital Foundation for $27,650 which was part of the $765,000 purchase of a new mammogram machine to improve patient care, particularly in breast cancer detection.
This year again, we are proud to announce all proceeds from this year’s 35th Anniversary show will be donated to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation. During the show, representatives from the hospital will be on stage to discuss the purchase of a new CT Scanner which is urgently needed for our community. CT scans are essential in diagnosing cancer and providing faster, clearer imaging in helping our medical team deliver life-saving care with greater precision and speed. By sponsoring you are directly helping bring this vital piece of technology to our local hospital.
Groups in attendance for the presentation: Classics Against Cancer, Georgetown Lions Club, Georgetown B2C, and of course Georgetown Hospital Foundation.
